Complete Independence from Vendor Influence
The technology consulting industry has a persistent conflict of interest problem. Many consultants receive referral fees, commissions, or co-marketing benefits from the software vendors they recommend. This creates an incentive to recommend products that are financially advantageous to the consultant, not necessarily the best fit for the client.
We do not participate in any vendor referral programs. We do not accept commissions on software licenses. We do not attend vendor-sponsored retreats or accept gifts from technology companies. Our only source of revenue is the fees our clients pay us directly for our advice. This means when we recommend a particular CRM, security tool, or cloud platform, it is because we genuinely believe it is the right choice for your specific situation — period.
Strict Non-Disclosure Protections
During the course of our engagements, we inevitably learn sensitive information about your business operations, financial performance, technology vulnerabilities, strategic plans, and competitive position. We take our obligation to protect this information with utmost seriousness.
Confidentiality by Default
Everything you share with us during an engagement is treated as confidential unless you explicitly tell us otherwise. We do not reference client names in marketing materials, case studies, or public communications without written permission.
No Information Sharing
We do not share information about your business with other clients, vendors, or third parties. Insights gained from working with your company are never used to benefit another client, even in anonymized form, without your consent.
Secure Handling
Client documents and data are stored in encrypted cloud storage with access limited to the managing partners working on your engagement. We use secure communication channels for all sensitive correspondence and destroy working files after the engagement concludes per our data retention policy.
We Never Demand Access to Production Environments
Some technology consultants insist on administrative access to your systems, servers, and production environments. We do not. Our advisory model is based on documentation review, stakeholder interviews, and architecture analysis — not on direct system manipulation.
We may request read-only access to configuration dashboards or documentation repositories to verify our understanding of your environment. We will never ask for credentials that allow us to modify, delete, or transfer your data or system configurations.
This policy protects both parties. You maintain full control over your systems at all times. We eliminate the liability that comes with having access to critical production environments. If our assessment identifies changes that need to be made, we document the specific steps for your internal team or implementation vendor to execute.
Engagement Standards
Written Deliverables
Every engagement produces a written report or plan that you own. We do not provide verbal-only recommendations that cannot be referenced, shared with your board, or used to obtain vendor quotes. Our documents are written in clear, professional English — no consultant jargon or buzzword filler.
Presentation Walkthrough
We do not simply email you a report and disappear. Every engagement includes a presentation walkthrough where we explain our findings, answer questions, and discuss implementation considerations. This ensures your leadership team fully understands our recommendations before making decisions.
Fixed Scope, Fixed Fee
The scope and fee for your engagement are defined in writing before work begins. If we discover that additional analysis is warranted beyond the agreed scope, we will discuss the options with you and obtain your approval before proceeding. No surprise invoices.
30-Day Support
All engagements include 30 days of post-delivery email support. If questions arise as you review our recommendations or begin implementation discussions with vendors, we are available to clarify our findings and provide additional context at no additional charge.
What We Will Not Do
To avoid any misunderstanding about the boundaries of our advisory services, we want to be explicit about what we do not do:
- We will not accept payment or benefits from vendors for recommending their products
- We will not disparage competitors or vendors to steer you toward preferred partners
- We will not recommend solutions that exceed your technical capabilities to maintain without ongoing dependency on us
- We will not provide advice in areas outside our expertise — if your needs extend beyond technology strategy, we will tell you and recommend appropriate specialists
- We will not work with organizations or on projects that conflict with our ethical standards or existing client commitments
- We will not guarantee specific financial outcomes or ROI figures that depend on factors outside our control
Our reputation depends on the trust of our clients and the quality of our advice. We protect both by maintaining clear boundaries and honest communication about what we can and cannot deliver.
